Pat joins the staff of Decatur Psychological Associates with a BA in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Illinois State University. Pat has been a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2003. Pat is certified in Critical Incident Stress Debriefings.

Pat specializes in short term, solution focused counseling for: grief and loss issues, occupational, vocational questions, stress management and recovery, gay and lesbian issues, cultural identity issues, adults as care-givers to aging parents.

Pam Burkhart, LCSW, CADC, CTS

Pam comes to Decatur Psychological after a 20 + year career in the public non-profit arena. Pam is a lifetime resident of Decatur, earning her Bachelor in Arts degree in Human Services from Millikin University in 1999 and her Masters in Social Work from Illinois State University in 2009. She has presented workshops throughout the state to many sectors on the effects of violence on children and families, Crisis Intervention and Response, Community Response to Violence, parenting and many others. She has extensive training in trauma, domestic violence, anger management in children and adults, substance abuse and family issues and spent the last 12 years of her career focused on children, violence and trauma.

Pam is certified in play therapy, substance abuse, trauma, and trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.  She is also a certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) to complete Department Of Transportation (DOT) approved assessments for those with a CDL that require an assessment.

Debra G. Charveron MA LCPC NCC

Deb received her Bachelor of Science degree from Millikin University in 1977 and her Master of Arts degree in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois in 1995.

Deb has been a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1995.  She has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2001.  Deb was University Counselor at Millikin for seven years and provided counseling services as an Employee Assistance Clinician at Chestnut Health Systems for twenty-two years.

Deb practices Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral therapy.  She addresses Depression and Anxiety, as well as concerns regarding marriage, family, divorce, parenting, grief, loss and life changes.  

Deb strives to create an atmosphere where the client has the opportunity to understand more fully and deeply the possibilities and solutions available in all circumstances.  Deb believes that the struggles we face today may help us develop the strength we will need in the future.

Elizabeth Featherstone M.A., LCPC

Liz joins Decatur Psychological Associates with the goal of providing therapy in a safe and non-judgmental space.  She has worked as a Licensed Counselor in Community Mental Health for the past 8 years, with the last two including work as a Clinical Supervisor. She greatly enjoys working with people and is passionate about what she does.  She believes that everyone’s life story holds immense value.  It can be hard to take the first step and to reach out for help.  To seek help and to allow yourself to be vulnerable is courageous.  She believes everyone has strengths that can be used to help reach your goals.  Liz is here to listen and help guide you on your journey.

Liz received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Illinois @ Springfield in 2008.  She received her M.A. in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois @ Springfield in 2014.  She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2015 and is currently a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2020.

Liz counsels teens and adults with a Trauma informed approach while practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Therapy.  She addresses symptoms of Depression and Anxiety, as well as life issues relating to grief and loss, parenting chronically ill children, surviving domestic abuse, and concerns related to family discord.  Liz works with clients in the LGBTQ community, as an affirming therapist.

Timothy H. Moore, MA, LCPC

Tim received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 2007 after retiring from 33 years in teaching for Central A & M School District to pursue a second career in counseling. He received a Masters in Education from the University of Illinois and a Bachelors in Education from Eastern Illinois University.

Tim discovered his interest in counseling through many years of working with students, particularly teenagers, and families and as a church leader and educator. Call Tim for help with adolescent/family and marital issues, sexual addiction/pornography, Asperger’s, PTSD, grief, obsessive-compulsive, anxiety or depression. Tim has been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This therapy has been successful in treating trauma and anxiety.

David Wence, D. Min., LCPC

Decatur Psychological Associates. P.C. was founded by Dr. David Wence in 2005. Dr. Wence received his BA in Psychology and Sociology from Eureka College in 1972, his Masters of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1976, and his Doctor of Ministry from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in 1986. Dr. Wence has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois since 1999. He became a Fellow in the former American Association of Pastoral Counselors in 2002 and is now a Psychotherapist member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Following are the areas in which Dr. Wence works: individual, couple and family counseling, identity issues, depression, anxiety, grief, crisis intervention and behavioral problems, teens, young adults, and adults.
